Get Your Vine On!

First it was Myspace, then Facebook; now the latest craze of social media platforms is Vine. Introduced in 2012, Vine has created a new sensation for users of social media. This app, created by the founders of Twitter, lets users create a six second or less video, looping continuously.

So wouldn't it be cool if resorts would use vine to promote their slopes on a daily basis?

Northstar Resort, now owned by Vail Corporation, introduced the EpicMix to enhance your experience on and off the mountain while visiting their resort. Having fun and doing what you love, now comes with rewards! Some of the features in the app include: tracking vertical feet each day riding through the season and sharing photos of you and your friends over the entire mountain. These photos can be pinned, tracking where you've been all over the mountain and sharing your experiences with friends that weren't able to make it. You can even take it a step further, and try to beat Lindsey Vonn in a downloaded race course, crazy right??

To even further enhance this app for skiers and snowboarders, there should be daily vines attached to the map of the mountain. Who wouldn't love to take early morning laps before the crowds get there? This way people will know what conditions are like before they get up there and spend money on a lift ticket.

A quick six second video allows people to view some of the most popular runs of Northstar, see the conditions, and then go have fun!
